Calcium Reactor Needed?

Whats the usual coral count before getting one of these things? I have 3 corals right now, but i plan on getting about 8 in total for my mixed reef 75gal tank. I was just curious... is it going to hurt me if i dont get one or 8 corals isnt that many where i need to get one. Thanks.

Are you dosing any two part solutions to maintain your levels? A friend has a 210 jammed with SPS and they just dose daily and do not use a CA reactor.

Hey there, I've been thinking about getting one also. I have a 90 galon predominately sps tank with numerous small colonies. I check my calcium and Mg levels weekly and all within normal limits. I have been doing 10% water changes weekly with tropic marin salt. if the water changes or dosing daily become too tedious, then i would get a Ca reactor. Unfortunately, the HS reactor is about $700.00 for everything. Something to think about when purchasing one. Hope this helps. Al

Try a kalk reactor, CA RX are not really necessary unless you have a high load of fast growing stoney corals =)

IF you are really getting concerned, I seen something on another forum, use a milkjug filled with it and drill a hole in the top and insert tubing and you have a drip line and it is free except for the kalkwasser.
