Calcium rector with no sump/question

Hi, I have a question that might be simple yet I haven´t seen it.

I want to add a calcium reactor in a tank that has no sump. In my opinion return pumps are a waste to some extent = need lots of energy consumption to do the lift, yet lots of flow is lost on the lift.
My tank project is going to be an L shaped tank, so the skimmer would be in the corner of the L.

But I want to place a calcium reactor under the reef, how do I feed it with tank water and then return it back to the tank?

You will need some kind of pump to feed the reactor? I wouldn't agree that return pumps are a waste. I'd say they're pretty much a requirement unless you have a HOB filter.
As far as the return...what do you have the return going to from the skimmer?
