Calcium up Alk down?

I currently dose a 2 part (Kent Marine Tech CB A and B). My calcium is up to 450 and my Alk is down to 8 DKH. I know that this is in the acceptable range but they are each heading in the wrong direction. MY PH seems stable at about 8.1. How can I maintain or raise my alk a little while keeping my calcium from getting any higher. Should I just dose the part A for a few days? Thanks!

Sure, you can do that if you want.

You could add more of both parts equally as the calcium should not continue to rise much just by boosting the alkalinity a bit higher. If you opt to push alkalinity up by another 2 dKH, then calcium should only rise about 14 ppm, which is fine. Alternatively, you can stop the calcium dosing for a few days and let it fall if you want.

That discussion assumes that you are not doing something else that perturbs the values, like water changes with Oceanic salt mix pushing up calcium.

Thanks Randy. I buy my premixed salt water from my lfs. I checked and they use "Kent" salt. I will increase both parts for a few days and see what happens.
