i found some stuff at pool and spa store. its called proteam spa calcium up. it says it 100% calcium chloride. would it be okay to add this to increase calcium? you can get 2lbs. for for $6.50.

Can't say for sure without testing. I would be concerned about using any pool or spa calcium chloride without testing it for impurities.

I agree, I wouldn't trust anything that was not made for a reef tank.

What salt are you using ? If your using salt like Oceanic Natural Sea Salt or Reef Crystals........any Reef salt, your Calcium level should be ok.

If your using just regular Instant ocean & its a reef tank. You may have to add supplements like calcium. If you do need to add calcium, you should check into something like Kents Liquid Calcium.

Agreed, without fairly expensive chemical analyses (which defeats the purpose ;) ) there's no way to know whether it's quite safe, or quite impure.

i use coralife salt. i would be using this for calcium replacement. just wondering because it said 100% calcium chloride on the bottle

I really do not think you will need a calcium supplement when using Coralife salt. It has plenty of calcium already. :)

Regular water changes should take care of business.

I have a lot of sps i have been using seachem dry calcium to add calcium. just looking for something else right now. i use about 20ppm a day.
