Calculating Head pressure

Hi all, getting back into the hobby after 20 years. Going big setting up a 240G with fish room in the basement. how do i calculate head pressure for the return pump?

Depending upon how much head pressure you calculate, I think you will find all the 'budget friendly' DC pumps wanting. I tried two from my basement sump and they, shall we say, underperformed. Most pumps measure max pressure in terms of vertical feet. Real world systems, of course have other kinds of back pressure in the form of plumbing friction.
