Calibrating Refractometer

Consider this a psa for anyone who uses a refractometer. I had not calibrated it in over 2 years but recently noticed my skimmer producing more foam than usual. I bought some calibrating fluid and found out my salinity crept up to 1.028! At this point there is no Ill effects to coral or fish and I can start lowering it. My next purchase will be a milwaukee digital refractometer.

FYI, you will still need to calibrate a digital refractometer periodically.
