Calibration solution

Hi,
I got a used ph controller today to use along with my calcium reactor. The problem with it is that it is reading the ph of my tanks water at 5.3 which is impossible. I was wondering if there is any way to make a homemade calibration solution.

That's actually for salinity, not pH.

I'd suggest buying a pH 7 and 10 standard, and only buy those that tested well in this article:

You can make a pH 9.2 solution to check the meter, but you can'y really calibrate with it alone:
