Calico Crab question

I recently saw a Calico crab at my LFS, and i was wondering about them. I would love to have one, but am a bit hesitant. What is their primary diet, are the reef safe, and has anyone kept one before. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I have never heard of a calico crab, do you mean pom pom crabs?

no, its called a calico crab..here is a pic.

Most crabs are scavengers. Some are reef safe and some arn't.

says it right there.. worms, clams, fish, etc... it's carnivorous and mostlikely not reef safe.

Ahh, yes the Calico Crab. I just seen one of these yesterday at one of my LFS. I asked if it was reef safe but the guy who was working had no Idea about the crab other than it was $14.99.
