Calling all refugium pros..

Trying to setup a refugium for my 60 frag tank in my sump. I have an aquaclear 50, an aquaclear 70, and an aquaclear 30 laying around from my freshwater tanks. I was wondering if i could hang one of them in my sump, remove the top and drop in either macro algae, or mangroves. Clamp on an led light or some light of some sort. Would this work? would flow be enough or too much? Would it be better hanging off my tank and use the lights from tank to grow?

Lol any input would help. Trying to do a quick DIY. I feel like it would work just want members who been doing this for years to help me out.

That would work. There is a fuge mod I followed with an AC70 I did for my pico. Might be small for your tank but something is better than nothing. I can try and find a link for your omorrow or try searching on RC for it. If I remember right you buy an impeller for a smaller AC like a 30 to slow the flow down and use the plastic casing that holds the media for the AC, cut the sides off, and glue it so it is perpendicular to the output of the filter so the chaeto stays in. Will be trying this tonight and see how it goes. Anyone know where i can get some good macro algae, chaeto, or mangroves? or does anyone prefer one over the other?
