Calling Deerfield Reefers

I'd really value a second set of eyes on my tank. I certainly could learn a lot more about the hobby and there is something about my tank that just doesn't look right.

I've got this brown algae that my clean up crew doesn't seem to want to eat.

Is there anyone who might have a few free hours to take a look at my set up?

I live on A1A and Hillsborough

po4 = o using both a hanna checker and hagen test kit
NO4 = .03 or less
Alk 229 ppm
ph is around 8.0 - 7.8

Where are you getting your RO water from? If your making your own and you are in Deerfield make sure you get a Chloramine Filter . . . .Deerfield Beach has high Chloramines in the water . . . Could cause all kinds of things, including Brown algae . . . Do you have a pic?

yeah you are 100% right MRX. I need to change my daily dosing from 30 minutes a day to more like 15 or 20. This is the cause of the high alk.

But I don't think this is the cause of the algae bloom do you?

I've got a chloromine filter on my RODI. Here is a pic of it.

It goes MicronBlock > Carbon Block > Chloramine Block > Membrane > DI resin

Strange thing is when I use my dual TDS meter, I get 1 TDS higher after the resin than I do before the resin. So before the resin its like 1 and after its like 2/3.

All the corals are doing fine, not seeing the color or growth I'd like tho.

Will post pics of the tank when I get home tonight
