Okay got the system going with only two small leaks now. How do I fix:

One joint that must have glued in slightly crooked as it drips pretty good when draining (this is over the sump). There is a small space between the two pipe connectors

What can I but on the pipe so it wont leak as I cant get them apart. Plumbers putty? There is no pressure on this pipe, only the flow of water from the overflows into the sump

Second on the list is the fitting from the sump to the drain has a small drip. I have everything tightened up but I am still getting a drip. Ideas?

Thanks

Take both apart clean real good and redo. Smeering something on the outside of the seems usually is a tempoary fix at best . Trust me I know ! Do as I say not as I do !:D

How to you get them apart?
thats my problem, I cant get them apart and dont have room to cut and add pipe

Well if its leaking at a glued joint, it would make sense that the glue was not heavily applied, so I have had luck taping lightly around the joint and sometimes it will jar the glue loose.

going to go ghetto on this thing

Going to caulk arond with plumbers putty, then cover tightly in Magic Wrap which is supposed to be able to handle 100 psi so we will see

I want it flowing tonight!!!!

Yikes ! You better hope a ghetto hardware store is open when your basement floods or atleast keep a bucket of jb weld and a few rolls of duct tape ready !

its not a big deal, its at the middle of the three drains and no way it can seperate. Very little water actually goes there as I would say 70% of the water goes down the first hole which I dont think is a big deal.

I can always scrap it and go with 2" pvc if the big tube doesnt work out

I had a drip on my 240 when I put it up. I used Aquarium sealant. Never leaked again.

But before you do that dry the pipe and try going around the outside of the pipe with more PVC glue. That has worked for me in the past.

That magic stuff is awesome. It looks like electric tape but you pull it to about half the normal width and you wrap it around the pipe. It bonds with itself and tightens and makes a complete seal.

I have water running through the tank now and so far no leaks!!!
