Camera Choice Crisis

Ok looking for help deciding on a camera......I sold my trusty Olympus c-740 and upgraded to a Canon XTi thinking I would enjoy the time learning and experimenting with pictures....what I've learned is I don't have time in my schedule to do that...so I sold it after about 600 pictures!

Now I want to buy a good point and shoot for vactions, landscapes, but also does well in the house at parties and with people.

I'm kinda looking at the Canon S3 and some of the Fuji's with IS and the pretty cool face detection stuff. And I want to stay in the $300 range.

So here's is where I've come for suggestions....any of you phot guys on here have any good suggestionss for me?

Thanks

Dave

The Panasonic DMC-FZ8K has been getting good reviews. And I;ve always liked Panasonic high end point and shoots. They use a Lieca lens which is very sharp.

I'm a Canon guy, so I also really like the Canon S3 IS. Both are comparable cameras, but the Panasonic has an extra meg or resolution.

I was also undecided between the Canon S3 IS, Panny FZ8, and an Fuji S700. I chose the FZ8 and I really like it. Like anything else with these types of opinions, do your research and try to go someplace where you can handle the equipment you've narrowed it down to.

I just recently purchased a Canon A630. $299 right around Mother's day, and the last I checked price is a bit lower now.
