i'm ready to buy a digital camera and the two i've narrowed it down to are the CanonA610 and the Kodak Z740....

i'd appreciate some opinions on each of these cameras to help me make my decision.... :)

it will mainly be used for photographing my tank, i'd like to be able to take full tank shots and micro shots of the inhabitants.. also ease of downloading to the computer would be great!!!

i'm a novice so i don't need anything you have to fiddle with a lot, i know i'll have to practice a lot to get good pics......

anyone got opnions one way or the other?????

thanks a lot

oh before i forget i have the Canon A610...

greeting's Cateye's, i would say go with the a610 because the canon's housing is metal/steel, on the other hand the kodak z740's housing is plastic. they both take decent good piks and macro's. although, the housing on one is plastic to the other one being steel/metal, hope this helps a bit...

The Kodak has a much longer zoom lens- and the Canon has the flip/twist lcd. Those are the two most glaring feature differences I noticed right off the bat.
Although the Kodak has the longer lens it does not have threads so it'll be difficult to use close-up filters on it. Close-up filters allow you to focus closer to the subject-- so you can get more magnification. The Canon already focuses very close but it also has threads so you can use filters (with the purchase of an adapter).
