Camera Comparison ?

I'm looking for a nice point and shoot camera that will take great macro shots. I'm leaning towards the bigger cameras because I can't get my meaty hands around the tiny ones. A lot of this camera jargon is way over my head but I picked out a few that I'd like some opinions on.

They are all about the same price so it's just getting the best camera out of the bunch.

myself and a couple other people on the forum have the canon S5IS

i like it a lot. its pretty good for macros, especially with a macro adaptor and its got a supermacro mode which you can basically be touching the subject and get a clear shot.

the other 2 seem nice, the panasonic seems better than the sony IMO, but i actually debated between that sony and the canon, and went with the canon.

yeah. once i get to use it better, i will upgrade to a DSLR - this is about as close as you can get i think. settings and whatnot are good to get to know how to use. the camera is capable of more than i am, as i have seen much better pictures than i am able to produce, but i got it for christmas and havent had a ton of chances to use it.
