Camera Question

I am planning on buying a Canon Rebel XTI, but have seen reviews that suggest the lens that comes with it is less than desirable. Rather than buying then lens kit should I just buy the camera body and buy the 50mm / 1.8f lens at roughly $70. I don't believe I could afford a better lens unless others have suggestions. I plan on using it for action shots this summer while traveling for a baseball team.

If you

If you

can get a Canon lens for $70 that "Fredmiranda.com" users give an overall rating of 9.2 then my advice is jump on it.

the canon 28-105 f3.5-4.5 is very very good for the money..cost about $220ish.
Skip the kit lens...or if you can swing a tad more..the Sigma 17-70 f2.8-4 is a GREAT lens. Blows the kit lens out of the water.
But if your budget is limited then i would say get the kit lens and use it stopped down around f8 cause having 1lens and it being a 50mm prime is going to limit you alot.

I saw the 28-105 f/3.5 -4.5 great price. The sigma is a little out of my price range. Whats the autofocus speed like? Will it work well with action shots... sorry for the questions. Amature.

the 28-105 has USM but its not ring type but would still be fast. It wouldnt have any problems keeping up with sports in good light. You mentioned Baseball. most of those are played during the day right? so you should be just fine with that.
