Camera Setting Help?

I took these pictures and they came out darker then wanted.

-Auto White Balance
-100 shutter speed
-5.6 aperture
-no flash

should i not be in the custom settings?
and usually the quality is better?

In order for it to be brighter you'll want a bigger (smaller number) aperture or slower shutter speed.

yeah, I know the only thing is, my Av was at its min. and shutter, i didnt want too low, in case of a blurr. ya know?
