What are your opinions on the Canon EOS digital rebel T1i? Im looking into getting this camera and wanted some reviews. This will also be my first dslr camera. Thanks.

I have had Nikons but I do read that the rebels are good starter cameras for the Canon line. You can also look into a Nikon D40 if you are interested in other brands. You can pick one up used for a good price and they take very good pictures

I agree with Josh and would go with the T2I if I was going to purchase a camera in the Rebel lineup. I have had Canon products for several years and shoot thousands of photos a year and never have had an issue with anything from Canon. Another piece of advice I would give is get the body only and buy the lens separate, don't get the kit. The kit lens is OK but I think you're better off taking the money you save by getting the body only and putting that towards a better piece of glass.

You can find a pretty in depth review of the T2I on dpreview

Well thanks for all the replies after being to several stores and playing around with them. I ended up buying a Nikon 5000. It just felt better in my hands. Thanks again.

I have the D5000 also and I love it. It has some pretty nice features. I bought the body only though and I'm using a 18-200mm lens for everyday shooting. I can't say enough good things about it.

Oh and if you have the extra cash, the sb-600 is way worth the money. Its the better flash and since the sb-900 is the higher end you can find a 600 fairly cheap. I got mine at best buy for 209.99 on sale. the picture quality is 100x better with that in place of the stock pop up flash
