Can a GBTA regain its color?

My lfs has a green bubble tip anemone for sale, but it has slowly been turning brown so now just the ends of it have a greenish tone to it. Is it worth buying, are they able to get their original color back or will it most likely stay a bland color for good?

The brown is the healthy color. Often you'll see them looking light or neon green, once put into a healthy enviroment they will begin to color up. Unfortunately some will take on a brownish color, this was their natural coloration before they were ripped from the ocean or light starved. I am looking for one that is deep green to add to my anemone system. Nice deep green bta's are difficult to find. I would say you have found a healthy bta, worth buying unless the brown really turns you off. : )

Actually I forgot that the owner told me a costumer returned it because it lost it bright green color. I've never really seen any bright green nems though, unless the person has a lot of blue in their lights. I guess I buy it, I guess having next to my rbta will help the green stand out.:)

i wouldn't trust the coloration of that first pic.. the saturation has been overly tampered with...but it's pretty nonetheless.

I have a BTA that was a light green/yellow color. I've had it for two weeks and it's regaining it's brownish color. I've never seen a actual green BTA.

This is an old picture but yeah a green bta can regain its color if given the right light. Mine was under two 150w 10000k MHs.
It went from this

To this in only a few months.

Pretty huh?..Too bad I don't have it anymore.

That is amazing, very nice.
