Can any Puffers be kept with corals?

All softies and lps. There's a little Valentini in the shop that I just love. We also have a blue spot but he's more reclusive right now. I currently have a pair of pink skunk clowns and a seahorse. A little puffer would add some interest as long as he doesn't tear up my corals.

Thanks - Laurie

i bought someone elses tank and fish, which included a decent sized porcupine puffer. i have had him in the tank with assorted zoos, assorted mushrooms, lots of xenia, and a nice sized frogspawn for months now. he has never touched any of them, and i never see him try. they keep growing, and so does he. i say go for it!

I believe there are but the other question is whether you have inverts that would likely be food for the puffer. Any shrimp, crabs or hermits are likely to becone a meal.

I agree 100%. My porc puffer has managed to eat all but 2 of the 50+ astreas in his tank and all of the 25+ hermits.

the porc puffer is a little different than a valentini. if i were going to put any puffer in a reef tank, a valentini would be the one. hth.

Yep - seahorse is in reef tank. She has been in there for months now. She swims up to get caught in the current and floats around the tank. She'll do it over and over then swim down, hook her tail around something and relax. I feed twice a day, mainly because of her and she does great. I know it isn't common practice but I haven't had any problems. I do have some grasses that she likes to hang out and hunt in, too.

I think I will try the Valentini - I can always pull him out and take him back if he starts to tear things up.

I had a Valentini, it was fine....unless I tried to put a snail in the tank, he'd kill the snail... :D

A Valentini will definitely rip through any and all hermits/snails in the tank. Their snout is well designed to get into hermit crab shells.
