Can anybody local chime in and help me with plumbing?

I would take both 90s going into the sump and make them Ts so air can escape. Look into a durso standpipe for the drain from the tank itself. Between the 2 that should make the tank quieter and also less microbubbles in the sump.

Thanks for the reply. What would go on the other end of those T's? Also, I have the standard overflow kit from AGA. Isn't that already a durso drainpipe?

what chris said should work.
I have a AGA 120 and yes the drain pipes are durso types.
what I do is on the output from the tank I bring the pipe openings just even with the water level so the air escapes when it goes into the sump. I also put filter padding on top of the output pump to trap the bubbles and any dirt.

I agree, I would put a "T" in, but I would also move the pump all the way to the right side of the sump and have only one overflow pipe going into the left side of the sump.
Having the overflow pipe split like that is afforing you no benefit. If anything it's creating more bubbles by having them come in on both sides of the sump.

Just cut the right over flow about 6 inches from the "t" (under the union) and cap it. Then cut the left overflow pipe just before the last downward elbow and place a "t" there.

From that point, just drop the overflow water out of the pipe, do not put a ball valve there. God forbid a snail or something got washed down there. You want it to flow right out.

Finally, extend the pipe above the "t" you just added (about 6 inches) and cap it.
Be sure to drill a small 1/4" hole in the cap to help reduce the noise from the pipe.

That's what I would do.

Good luck!

Hi John,

I just replied to your PM on NCAS... I see you got some advice already from some of the experts I mentioned in my e-mail.

Sincerely,

Lonnie
