If it is a blasto the species is Merletti. Common name would be Blastomussa, but it doesn't really look like one to me.

it is micros or acans. how large are the polpys? If they are eraser size they are micros, if they are larger they are probally acan lords then.

Get a picture of the skeleton if it's visible. In the few Merletti pieces I have seen, the skeletons were long tubes similar to that of a pipe organ coral.

In all likelihood it is a type of faviid (not a mussid). That doesnt really narrow it down too much, but if you want a common name, "Brain Coral" is a pretty standard catch-all.

I agree it is a type of faviid, and not a micro or acan. Lots of different ones lsited here. http://www2.aims.gov.au/coralsearch/coralid_search.php You may find what youre looking for.
