Colonial hydroids? I would certainly get that rock out of your tank until they are ID'd for certain. Colonial Hydroids are almost impossible to get rid of and that rock is just about 100% covered, as will the rest of your tank be covered if you leave them in. Hopefully it's not been in there long enough to start but I'm afraid it will more than likely be too late and they'll start growing elsewhere. Hopefully I'm wrong!

Well, both actually. Do a search here or also on Google and do some research. But totally in my opinion I'd get them out of there ASAP until a positive ID is determined, I could be wright or I could be wrong but Colonial Hydroid is my best guess.

Thankfully it's on a small rock so I removed it but what's the best method to killing them now that the Rock is out? I currently just have it soaking in a RO water

Bleach will kill them for sure, and you could try a 50/50 mix of white vinegar and water then soak the rock in that. Personally I'd pitch the rock

Kelvin, how are you sure they they're clove polyps and not Colonial Hydroids? I'm about 99% sure they're hydroids.

There are many types of clove polyps but they're a lot larger than these shown. Here is a picture of a regular clove polyp I found on Google Images. Similar yet not the same. Hydroids are smaller and have a different appearance to them than the clove
