Not sure what this is. I see cloves at the bottom of the rock, but what is above it? Some weird algae or plant?

Any help is appreciated!

I see the cloves but that other has to be some kind of macro algae. I'm sure Cloak will come around and ID it. I like it though!!!!

I'd guess it's a macro algae as well. It looks very nice. I'd be inclined to let it grow some and then see if you can't 'frag' it and get it to grow in a location where it won't interfer with corals getting the light they need.

I'd like to see a photo without all the air bubbles attached to it.

I'll definitely try to get some more pics for you all. It has to be a macro algae but I'm not sure if it is Gelidium latifolium, as it doesn't seem to be as wirey or thin. I'm sure we'll have a better guess once it grows out more.

Try sending an email with a photo to Russ at Gulf Coast Eco Systems in Bradenton, FL. He deals in macro algae and Gorgonians almost exclusively.
