Can anyone identify this seaweed/plant?

I went out fishing earlier today and pulled this in out of the bay..I've searched for hours trying to identify it and no luck so I figured I'd upload it here and see if anyone here has ever seen it or knows what exactly it is called.

any one? I wanted to mainly know if it was safe to throw it in my refugium.

It looks like an algae of the Codium genus. It is safe, slower growing, and generally unpalatable.
