First, probably, yes. Second ..... hmmmmn, hard to tell. Is it moving? Almost looks like an aeolid nudibranch. Maybe a majano.

No it is not moving and watched the rock for a week + at the LFS and it never moved. It did seem to be open not so much of a ball in the LFS. I will wait a couple days and see if it opens to show you. It looks cool especially under actinic but want to make it is cool to have.

Baby Fungia would be my guess.

I'm not really sure what I'm supposed to be looking at in the first picture though.

Cloak, think you pointed me in the right direction on the second picture, thanks. The first picture I am referring the tentacles coming out of the yellowish mass. I am pretty sure it is a snail. The tentacles get covered with everything then it pulls it in. I can't really see it though like it is a hole in the rock.

I know this thread is almost two years old and Cloak was correct that it is Fungia. Now I have some questions that have come up over the last couple of years.

First that tiny spot with a couple green tentacles on the rock has now grown four Fungia that drop and the spot grows another one. First question how long will it keep doing this? Not complaining but just curious as I would like to change the my setup and move this rock but want to make sure it is in a good spot for it or leading to my second question. Can I remove the spot that produces the Fungia from the rock or is deeper in the rock and I should leave the rock alone?

That spot has produced four Fungia. First one dropped off and I glued it to a frag and it quickly died. Second one was buried by the goby and by the time I noticed it and I unburied it it was dead. I never even saw the fourth after it dropped off. I suspect the goby again but no proof. The fourth just dropped off and I put a rock under it and buried in the sand. My question here has is the fourth just dropped off and has been doing great for a couple weeks and the goby now lives on the other side of the tank and leaves it alone. What do I do to keep it alive with the goby as eventually he will move back over here?

Also the stem this time on the rock looks to have two starter in stead of one. Is this all normal?

Here is the current picture of the fourth Fungia and the stem on the rock that makes them.

I have done research on these on the internet but was curious if anyone had an experience similar to mine they could suggest on how to handle this rock that makes corals. I really would like to remove what makes it from the rock and redo the set up.
