Can CaRx Media brand effect Acro Growth?

As the subject asks, will having crushed coral as Calcium Reactor media have any kind of effect on Acropora growth?
Thanks

I've used A.R.M. for several years. I've just switched over to the Schuran media. I'll let you know in a few months if anything's different :)

Crushed coral can have trapped phosphates so it is very possible that a negative affect could be caused by it.

That article makes me want to swap out my crush coral media asap.
I have a 2-chamber reactor, should I replace the media in the 1st chamber with ARM, then after a couple weeks change the 2nd chamber?

Would it be okay if I change out the media all at once?

BTW, is there anything better than ARM?

Thanks

You can change it all at once. Its not suppose to be bio-media. From the PO4 standpoint I think ARM is the lowest. Quite a few people don't use it because of the "mud" problem. If your pH gets to low it can turn into a fine mud and it will need to be replaced. Still it is probably the most popular brand out there.

The gen x media is promising, and i am going to try that mext after i run out of arm.
