i have a female percula... sometimes, when she's upset, she keeps charging and swimming against the glass and keeps trying to bite at the glass... sometimes it makes sound... i'm not sure if she is grunting or it is caused by her bumping onto the glass...

yes...! the sample audio sounds exactly what my fish is doing... although my fish doesn't sustain the clicks as long as in the audio...

Neat article! My clowns definitely make sounds. Sometimes it catches me off guard. I think most of us tend to think of them as silent animals, but they can be pretty vocal when they want to! :)

I had a nice pair of A.chrysopterus in a tank and one day the female started clacking her jaws. It was so loud I could her from the other room. She was beating on the male non stop. They did fine with each other before and finally clacking noises started with bites on male's tail. I thought she was showing who the boss is and they might go back to where they were but is possible male was changing sex too because I came home one day and the male is dead. I brought another clarkii male and put it in the tank and both started with clacking noises so removed the male from the tank. Brought three months old Clarkii (TB) and she was ok. The sound is so loud in Clarkii family that I could hear it over my TV.
