Can come back from the dead?

So guys, I bought a chunk of aquascaped live rock to seed my dry rock in my new setup. In addition to having a quite alive brain coral on the rock I noticed a stony polyp structure on the rock. It appeared dead by all appearances, but after going in my tank I noticed small fuzzy growth on the skeletal structure. Then today while feeding pellets to my fish I noticed several of the pellets directly in the holes of this small quarter sized skeleton. Seems as if it was attempting to feed itself the pellets! Am I imagining this or is this guy coming back from the dead?! :fun4:Anyone have experience with this happening?

Yes, a lot of stuff can come back. I think that there is a thread where someone grew a full reef from nothing but rock.
