Can different colors of torches touch and what about Euphyllia

I posted this in the general reef discussion but this might be a better forum for this question. Hi I have a new, 4 month 48" tank with many corals (I went crazy on ebay, etc). Can I put my torch corals (different colors) right next to each other so they touch when slightly extended, and my various frogspawns and hammers (4 of various colors) seperate from the torches but touching each other, and my zoas also touching each other but away from the long tentacle corals, and my favias touching and next to the zoas but away from the long tentacle corals. Also, can mushrooms and zoa's touch??? I have my torches up high, about 3 inches below the surface and in strong current so they cant touch anything else but still look like their tentacles are dancing. My Euphyllia corals are about 7" below the surface and placed out of direct current. Thanks for your help! Also, which LPS like strong current???

As I understand it, yes. Although, I've heard that favias do not always play nicely together, so watch those. Everything else you mentioned should be okay touching. However, I would still take it slow i.e. if you just bought a 2 polyp frag, wait until the plug is covered before you give it a neighbor.

I currently have some favites and blastos in a medium to high flow area in my tank. I wouldn't recommend putting all blastos in a high flow, but medium seems to be okay. Just give them time to acclimate. Favites don't seem to mind high flow at all. Despite the flow, I still see them with their tentacles out, flying all over the place, on a regular basis.

Most LPS like medium flow. I've heard that candy canes can acclimate to high flow, but haven't done it myself.

torches&torches= OK, usually
frogspawn&hammers= OK
Frogspawn/Hammers&torch= war
Zoa/Mushroom= Not OK, I wouldn't
Favia&Favia= war
Zoas&Zoas= neat colonies

Not many LPS likes high current, I'd find another place for the torches. Favia are the only ones I would place in high flow.

for high flow areas certain chalices can be acclimated to those areas. some people actually see better color and growth under higher flow and more intense light

IMO unless they are the same, I would keep them apart by a few inches so sweeper tentacles cannot harm the ones that are close to each other. TwistedEnvy gives a good recommendation IMO. The issue is that as they grown sometimes they will sting nevertheless as they want more space for themselves to expand and grow. To play it safe keep them several inches apart. FWIW

I had bad luck with a hammer and torch touching. tentacles always sticking to each other and my torch lost a head before i moved them.
