Can emerald crab eat clown fish?

Can an emerald crab eat a clown fish? Or would it like to?

I searched the web and it says the crab can eat small fish.
How small is small?

The clown fish that I have is slightly bigger than the crab.
They're both probably slightly bigger than an inch.

I think I saw the crab waving its claws toward the poor clown fish.

When I bought the crab, I thought he was much smaller than the fish, till I put him in the tank, and found out he is only slightly smaller.

Is my clown fish safe or should I return the crab?

It depends I dont think you can really tell the behavior, depends on how small the fish is and how hungry the crab is.

I wouldn’t worry a whole lot about it. I have read that large emeralds will eat fish but never actually heard of anyone having it happen. My emerald will wave his claws at any fish that swims by him but its really more of a hey, back up man kind of move. He will eagerly eat any meat he can find and I think that he may have killed a snail. As for fish though I think he is more afraid of them then they are of him. (Even my little clown goby who I think chases him for fun)
