Can get polyps from milles, or acros...even my slimer Help!!

I can only wish to have ridiculous polyp extension lol. Who believes that you need to find the happy medium between perfect "too clean" water vs "dirty" water? What works for everyone ya know? I understand everyones tank is different and its all case by case but there has to be some sort of a starting point or set standard of what does and doesn't work. Also I'm starting to wonder if I should try changing up the salt I use. I've been a RedSea Coral Pro user since January, just ordered a 56lb case of Reef Crystals for $44 so I couldn't pass it up. Figured it was a good time to swap lol. Things aren't great now so whats could possibly go worse?!

Your better off with Red Sea salt than IO. The trace elements values are better. Especially with have an SPS tank.

And your tank was looking great, minus the acro lack of PE.

Have you looked into if anyone has problems with PE using Zeovit system? Im just not familar with it.

I would bet on the angelfish as well. It probably doesn't do it while you are around but it's doing it. If you can take the fish out and keep him in your sump for a while, see if that helps.

I saw this guys tank yesterday. I went to buy a frag from him. The only reason Im not sold on the idea of those fish nipping on the corals is that its only acros. All the birdsnest and pocillipora and such are fine. Would there be a reason only acros would be picked on?

Ur exactly right!!!other corals aren't as tasty so they don't go for it...this has happened to me too...catch the suspect...lol

Red bugs cause no harm to polyp extension to your Milleporas....in a very truly rare rare occasion they will, but they prefer Acropora

Are you aware aware that what we call millepora are Acropora millepora?

Animals belonging to the genus Millepora include fire corals, and are part of the order Anthomedusae, not the order Scleractinia (the last S in sps and lps).

I'm so sorry im not really understands ur comment...I'm pretty aware I know what an Acropora millepora is....and yes it's an Acropora..if u are trying to say that(Acropora Milleporas)will host red bugs..I might have to do a little more reading and get my facts straight....as far as I know they Will only affect smooth skin Acropora..but if u know different u should show us prove of it..

I didn't known this because I didn't really payed attention to the speciffics...but I do now....thanks...

Funny how some corals are tasty and others aren't haha I need to stop dragging my feet and catch this angel. Then we will really know if that is the reason for lack of PE.

It just that the way you said it sounded like milleporas et acroporas were 2 differents things...

haha +1 on polyps coming back. Going to do a decent water change tonight (20g) and attempt to snag Bella and toss her in the sump for a week or 2. I have a feeling its going to be a pain to catch this fish.

OK so I wanted to toss in an update on this. I still haven't been able to catch our coral beauty BUT I changed brands of salt. Was using red sea coral pro and decided to go with a deal I found on reef crystals. I did a water change of about 22 gallons and i've since been following the zeovit system to a T. I'm coming into the second week of using the zeovit and I've actually noticed that my acros polyps are starting to come out on everything except the milleporas. No clue why or what parameter has changed to cause this but hey I'm not complaining haha. Still hoping and praying for the milles to come through for me but who knows, we will see.

Sorry you still arent getting PE. The cali tort I got from you doesnt either, unless all the lights are out. Have you looked in the tank after the lights have been off for an hour or 2?

Before work this morning, I looked at it and the polyps were out.
