Always liked Flash Gordan.

They need to make a sequal.

I had read they were going to make a sequal. It is a kick butt story. Did you know that George Lucas had tried to make Flash Gordon but couldn't wrest the rights away from the guys who did? If he would have had his way their never would have been Star Wars which was essentially a knock off. As cheesy as Flash Gordon is, between the soundtrack and the clear moral lessons I think it was a much better movie.

Im glad George was unable to wrestle the rights away. Imho George relies too much on special effects and not enough on story. But wow that is cool I did not know that. How did you read the story to the sequal?

btw, if you were around to watch it when it first came out in 1980, you thought this was the coolest thing since sliced bread.

Try a google search. I found out a sequel was in the works trying to find a region 1 DVD of the original. They are very hard to find and cost a fortune, I finally found one used on eBay for $60.

That's cheap actually. A british company owned the rights to issue the DVD and made hardly any in region one format.
