Can I get a clam?

I have a 46 Bow and have a 36" Aquactinics with 5 39w T5 bulbs. My questions is do I have enough light to keep a clam? Which species would be the best to keep?

Hi yes you can buy a clam, and the one to get would be a Dersa, nice a hardy.

I have personally not used T5's, but some people hold them in high esteem. What is the depth of your tank? I, personally, would not put a crocea or maxima near the bottom, but someone else will surely post here soon saying that it would be OK.

I would like one with nice blue color..Did I read that the bigger they are the easier they are to care for? What is a good size?

My tank is 2O inches deep but I have about 3-4 inches of sand on the bottom so I would say around 16-17 inches deep.

the blue ones are usually the croceas and maximas. Personally, I would say if you get one,put it in the rocks and closer to the light. And PLEASE research the requirements for clams. They have water parameter requirements which must be met.
