I have a 65 gallon tank with a 32 gallon sump. I have 2 chromis. 1 tomato clown and a small kole tang. my tank has been running for around 5 months and it was an upgrade from my 25 gallon nano that was running for about 1 year. Will i be able to get another small fish or did i hit my max? And if i can whats a good recommendation?

Absolutely. I've got 8 fish in my 40b with a 20 sump. Just make sure you have lots of export in place. I've got about 80 lbs or so of LR between my DT and sump as well as chaeto. Watch over feeding because nitrates will catch up with you if you do. LOL ask me how I know :hammer:

I have 9 in my 45....

Big skimmer, good amount of live rock, watch my feeding, parameters always in check, everybody happy. 25% water change every two weeks.

So yes, it's your tank, your money, your time and effort. If you want more fish, go for it!

LA suggests a 70 for a kole tang and from my understanding tangs need a lot of space. i would say no youve maxed out and may have to move the tang at some point if you dont upgrade your tank. over crowding is a very real danger and can easily kill fish. best to err on the side of caution

I would say yes but when I got my kole tang in my 75 he was supper aggessive... I only had 2 clowns, 1 wrasse, 1 chromis... and I would have added him last would I have know what was gonna happen

The kole should be fine in the 65, though each has their own temperament, so some may be aggressive in a 75 while others peaceful in a 60. There are more than just tank space factors that effect their aggression.

Each tank is different, but if your parameters are in check then adding another fish shouldn't be an issue.
