Can I have a clam?

My tank only has a pair of gsm clowns and a lawnmower blennie ,and a pencil urchin. It's a 55gal. 260 watts of PC lighting . It's been up for almost a year. lots of live rock and live sand . Any ways I know I could probably handle a lower light clam what about a hippo . I've read alot of posts about clam care and I am reading more books . Any and all replies welcome

Your light is fine for the hippo :)
However, I would worry about the pencil urchin. They are not reef safe and I wouldn't trust one with a clam for a second.

The lawnmower is a (very remotely) potential nipper (some blennies like bi-colors are clam killers), but I wouldn't worry about him. The chances are VERY slim. I've only once heard of a lawnmower causing problems for a clam.

Thanks Peabody,
I'm going to do so more reading and I think I'll go ahead and return spike my pencil urchin before before I get a clam just to be on the safe side . Thanks again

Probably a good idea. I wanted one once when I was a newbie, and then found out they were not reef safe....bummer!

Best of luck!! :)
