Can i keep a mantis?

i have a 2.5 gallon tank empty and am still debating on what to do with it i have a 2.5 gallon tank with 13 watts pc and am only looking to keep easy corals like zooos and mushrooms and will be using all small pieces of tonga branch lr(even though it is quite expensive) from what ive read on here a wenneras(sp) could live in a tank this small but i would like to hear others opinions and i haven plenty of time cuz i cant set the tank up until after april 15th so my main questions are if i can keep one and if so will i be able to glue/epoxy my rocks the wya i liek them or do i hafta leave it so the mantis can do what he wants and what kind of substrate will 9i want for one of these thanx in advance to anyone who replies sorry this is so long im very new to mantis shrimp but they are very intriguing

ok well ive already been informed i can keep one so now a bigger ? is which small species is best and where can i find one thanx alot

they can live in small tanks I would personally go with at least a 10 but many do otherwise good luck

any other opinions i plan on gettig a wenneras(sp) so waht kind of substrate and aquascappig are they gonna want and do i need to make caves or will it make one on its own

I liket tonga the best for LR, plus, if you add a piece of black pvc pipe, and cover it in tonga, and other LR, it will make a perfect burrow. Also, use crushed coral and rubble for the substrate with the wennera because its a smasher. TBSaltwater have them for 50 bucks shipped.

i am gonna c if i can get my lfs to see if they can save one if they find one as a hitchiker and thanx for the help
