Can I keep an anemone in a 20g

I have recently setup a nano tank. It is a 20g with a 40g sump. Total there is just over 100lbs of LR. The lighting is 110PC and 150 HQI.

My wife would like to get an anemone and a clown and I am not sure if this is possible.

Before doing the research I thought I'd ask the pro's. Any suggestions on species.

Thanks.

Not recommended being that they get fairly large and require alot of space...

the lighting is right...id say go with a hatian or sebae...

That's a lot of light. Make sure the water doesn't get too hot. I would go for a BTA before a sebae. Healthy sebaes are too hard to come by and they get too big.

I've had two 6-8" BTAs in a twenty gallon for many years. Don't plan on keeping much else besides the anemone though.

Wow just over a 100 pounds of lr is awesome in a 20 gallon tank, i would love to see pics of the tank to see how you got all that rock in there. I would also go with a bta but get the rbta, they are so nice.

Stay away from a sebae or anything that is not an E. quadricolor..Cant go wrong with a BTA..

I'm going to jump on the "don't get a sebae" bandwagon. In good conditions it will grow very quickly and outgrow your tank. I have one in a 30, and while I love it, there are concessions that we've had to make. The nem gets one side of the tank with the clowns and we get the other side. If things are too close, they'll die off either from the nem shading them too much or from coming in contact with it. Since we're not fond of stocking only 1/2 of our tank we have another one set up and the 30 will become mostly dedicated to the nem and its clowns (and probably a lot of zooanthids!)

Good luck!

Most of the rock is in the 40g sump. there is around 25lbs in the 20g.

Thanks for all the advice. I do like the BTA. I might be able to get a Rose Bubble Tip for free. It is about 1" in diameter.

thanks for all of the help. I really appreciate it.

There is no way a 100 lbs could fit in a 20. I was about to say there had to be some in that sump. I would go with a BTA but it will outgrow it in time.
