I have a FOWLR right now that houses a dwarf fuzzy lion and valentini puffer.....tank is a 50g.

Would I be able to add a peacock in there with no problems?

it depends on the mantis. every one is different and some may kill anything in the tank with it. so i wouldnt recomend adding a peacock into that tank with those fish if you care about them.

also depending on the size peacock you get watch out for the puffer attacking it as well.

to be fair to all creatures NO !!!!!! Enjoy them in their own rights. You can create a small cheap nano system for a mantis that would allow you to interact with one and enjoy it more.

Hi Dave,

I've heard several stories of mantis living 'happily' with tank mates for several months then...................!!!! as someones else says it ends not with a bang, not with a wimper but a thwack.....

There is a shop in the UK that has a very large peacock smasher in a species nano. The nano had a big flat worm problem so the owner put a six line in. The wrasse ate all the flat worm over a period of a few months. When they had all gone the peacock ate him. Hardly fair after the spring clean he'd done.

Well the peacock is about 4".... the lion and puffer is about 2". I might just do a dual display that is plumbed together.

I guess the mantis thought he had outlived his usefulness.

Fair point - well made - they are meant to be intelligent arent they !

I jsut added three yellow tailed damsels to my 65 gallon which had housed only a peacock. When the damsel swam right in front of the peacock I thought that was the end of the damsel. The peacock has paid no attention to the damsels for the past week. I think it is hit or miss.
