Can I move a cycling tank?

I got a used tank and started cycling it only to discover that it was actually a reptile terrarium rather than a fish aquarium and the glass is too thin to hold water. To reduce strain on the glass, I have only filled it up halfway. I also got a real aquarium of the same size to replace this one. My question is, should I move the rock and sand from the old tank to the new one while it is still cycling or should I wait until it has finished? Will moving the live sand affect the bacteria?

Just move it. It might take a little longer, but not that much. Good move on replacing the tank, and [welcome]
