CAN i run MH under a normal canopy?

Will it get too hot if i run 2x400 MH retro under my normal canopy. I want the clean/hidden look without buying a raised canopy. I'm thinking I will be ok if I install one or two fans as well. (I will also have glass lids)

I'm not certain I have ever seen a prebuilt canopy really designed for MH. I would say you need 6-12" off the water surface, plus roughly 2-3" for the mount...

BTW... You wont want the glass lids. They will hold the heat in until they get hot and have cold water hit them. Then you will be on a glass recovery mission.
