Can I sell frags if I have ich in the tank?

Can / should I sell frags if ich is present in the tank? The ich is not going to be going anywhere anytime soon as I'm not about to pull 16 fish to quarantine them and let the tank lay follow, I don't have the time/resources to do that.

If I make it clear that the frags come from a tank where ich is present, is that sufficient?

You can but just make sure any buyer is aware of it. Ich can definitely transfer on a coral.

Personally I wouldnt, but thats just me. My reputation means a lot more to me than a few bucks made off some frags. But if they are told up front and chose to buy them anyways then its now all on them the way I see it.

from my understanding, it can attach to substrate, etc at one point in its life cycle so should disclose to the buyer.

You know what I think I'll leave the pieces unmounted that way it reduces the risk. Or I mean I guess really there should be no risk.

Ich cannot survive without a fish for more than 14 days, you'll be fine. Give your tank that good ol' quarantine treatment after your fish are cleared of ich

Ich itself cannot survive without a host for too long, however if they've laid eggs those can still be in the tank and your tank can be occupied by these pests for about 60 days or so. This is what I've seen in my research, I could be wrong tho [emoji2371]

Would you make love with a person knowing that person has STD? Don't do it. You could be selling it to an amateur reefer and that person can't treat ich.

It’s always good to give the buyer as much info as possible but you’re 100% good to sell. Anyone who says don’t sell doesn’t understand ich 100%.

If the buyer is worried about ich and actually understands it then he already has a qt for corals set up and wouldn’t care regardless because all corals and inverts would be qt. If they don’t take those precautions or understand it then they already have it in the system and think they are ich free

Can't agree more. Everyone should be responsible for themselves when it comes to pest and shouldn't just assume corals from a clean system are clean enough to be dropped into a display.
