latazyo New member Sep 16, 2006 #3 the amount of water a drain can handle depends on its area the area of a cross section of 2" pipe is 3.14 sq in, times 3, that is 9.42 sq in the area of a cross section of 4" pipe is 12.57 sq in so the 4" pipe can do a lot more flow than three 2" pipes...so to answer your question, absolutely
