Can I use a bleached shell?

A friend of mine brought back a small conch shell he collected while diving off Porto Rico. He used a bleach solution to sanitize it, as it had some lingerling ocean smell. He gave this to me for my tank at my request. Now I am worried that I won't be able to use it because of the bleach. Is there anything I can do to make it safe?

boil it in some water for 5 mins or so.

Boiling works, ... just rinse it very well.

If it's been some time since the bleach just rince well, if you are unsure do boil.
