can i use epoxy puddy to stick rocks?

can i use the 2 part epoxy puddy to stick rocks together? is it safe ? if its not or wont work how can i stick my rocks together without having to drill them for acrylic rods? also if anyone has pics of of cool rockwork they made themselves id like to see that also thanx!

Epoxy works great for rock. Just make sure you clean the rock of dust and debris as well as you can first.

I must say that using epoxy, such as aquamend, is an extremely inefficient and expensive ways to attach large and even small rocks together. You need a massive amount of it.

When I build the rock structure below I used GE silicone I to hold them together with the aid of vinyl driveway marker rods, all found at home depot or lowes. This took two tubes of silicone, masonry drill bit, and two driveway marker rods. Probably not more than 30 bucks:

I've used expoxy.. make sure your rock is clean... Another option depending on what you want to make for aquascape is to build a support structure out of egg crate. Used that to make a pillar in my tank.

you have to use rod to support or it will fall.
I used rods + Aquamend.

I usually use acrylic rod alone ..althoug Ive never seen these driveay marker rods..What are they make of? looks like metal to me..

Usually a vinyl or fiberglass. They are somewhat flexible to keep the side of the car from getting all marred up when you hit them.

They are pretty rigid, though, I tried to break it in the store and had a pretty hard time.

good tips guys what is aquamend? is is a liquid epoxy? or is it the stuff that you have to knead together until its all one color then it cures

two part epoxy might only be useful if you have a small nano. otherwise, you may want to listen to these guys here.

if you do choose to go with the two part epoxy way, just keep in mind that you may want to rescape your tank later on, so it might be best to not use too much so that you can take your rocks apart at a later time.

true i think im just going to make a tripod structure with 3 long rocks and stack all my other loose rock around and on top of it
