Can I use hyposalinity or copper in FOWLR

youll kill all your live rock with copper and the tank will be unuseable for reefs/inverts in the future.

if youre having disease issues, you need to treat the cause. adding meds without knowing the cause isnt going to get you anywhere. you'll treat and the signs will be gone and then once you stop theyll get sick again.

test your water with quality test kits and maintain a tank without stressors. your tank may be overstocked, overfed, or more than likely, undermaintained. this is all common with FOWLR because you're semi new to sw, right? give us more info and ill be able to give you specific things you can do instead of bombing the tank with these stressful meds and methodologies.

Copper will ruin your live rock and hyposalinity will kill the flora and fauna. Best to quarantine ALL new fish 3+ weeks before putting them into the display. Treat only in the Qtank.

Snail & Terry,

Thanks for the reply! Water parameters are good. Ammonia=0, Nitirite=0, Nitrate=5-25, pH=8.0 using Red Sea test kits. The temp went up 2 degrees yesterday. The main reason why I'm thinking why I have the outbreak of ich.
All my fish are still pretty healthy and eating except the white spots in their body and fins. No scratching yet. I will then set up a quarantine tank to be on the safe side. Just wanted to know the effect of using hyposalinity in my FOWLR. Again, Thanks!
