Can I use these lights for a mixed reef

Can I use 2 of these lights (42 watt equal to 150watt 6500k) combined with a dual 36 inch pc over a 40 gal breeder(I think their like 18 inches high) to grow soft & hard corals. Here is the link to the lights http://www.1000bulbs.com/42-Watt-Compact-Fluorescents/1086/ or would it be better to go with 2 -36 inch t5's (39watts a piece) that are 10000k combined with the cp's stated above?

The T-5's would definitely be much better.
The compact flourescent spiral bulb that you linked would be OK for a refugium, IMO. But the 42 watts is just 42 watts as far as corals are concerned -- apparently they don't believe the marketing hype on these bulbs
