Can I use this skimmer?

So I went to pick up my skimmer today and the wrong one came in. I ordered the Reef Octopus Regal 200-INT for my Sump .. and the 250-INT came in. I can have the bigger skimmer for the same price as the one I ordered.

The question is IF I can get it to fit.. will it be too much for my setup? My total volume is aprox 150g ..

How will the ability to control the DC pump on the skimmer affect the ability of the skimmer to work. The tank will be overstocked reef tank with fish, LPS, and SPS .. thanks guys

Bigger would better in this instance IMO. The ability to regulate the pump is a huge plus. I'd take that deal.

So even with the DC pump dialed down the skimmer should work ok? Thanks.. I just don't know how the variable pump feeds into the equation

The variable pump doesn't care if you have a 100 or 1000 gallon setup. The setting on the pump is determined by the bio load and thus the contents of crap (essentially) that is in the water. Coupled with the water height in the sump that's how you'll dial it in. Again I'm no expert but that is my basic understanding.

If I'm wrong, someone will correct me. It is the Internet after all.

Thanks.. My motto is "anything worth doing.. is worth overdoing "

But I want sure if running that small of a load would be detrimental
