salinity levels?
As part of a system upgrade I am setting up a permanent QT tank that will be used to quarenteen all new arrivals for 6 weeks prior to placing into my display tank. During the six week quarenteen process I will be using Hyposalinity to insure no ich or parasites are present at the end of the QT period. The goal is to set up a permanent QT that can be easily cycled between 1.026 to 1.009 salinity as needed. At 1.026 I will be able to run the QT off of my main display tank loop. During Hyposalinity I will be able to run the QT as a separate closed loop system.
While running on the QT loop I plan to set up a small refugium/sump with macro algae that will be connected to the QT.
Can I run the fuge at low salinity levels without killing the macro algae? I here Caulerpa is almost impossible to kill...... I also have some mangrove trees in the sump.......
Thanks in advance for the advise........
