Can more light cause acro to be less vibrant

I posted a while back my Bali green Slimer is not as vibrant and has low polyp extension. I still haven't found the root cause. It continues to grow and all the other acros I have continue to do well. Params are good and I have increased flow some to the slimmer. I have rotated out my bulbs to ati in the last few months. Nothing quick, two at a time. I have a eight buld t5. The slimmer is towards the top and the side that has more of the actennic seems to be greener than the other side that gets more 14k light. I have also considered lowing it but i dont want to damage less than optimal acro. I think I had too long of a photoperiod 12 hours so I lowered it some. I am temped to turn two bulbs off and see what happens but I am leary to rock the boat overall. Unfortunatly the lights I have only have one plus so I can only turn individual pairs of bulbs off manually. I recently had to lower a Duncan because it was bleaching for too much light half way up the tank. It occurred after the light brand switch. Thoughts?

I would try lowering it a bit in the tank for a few days. maybe its getting too much light and its not able to recover. just my .02

Coral coloration depends on a variety of things but lighting is important bc its where they get their food from. If a coral feels its receiving too much light, it will release some zooxanthellae and vice versa. as long as its not bleached, you are ok. If its still growing, you know its healthy.

No bleaching, all my acros are growing well. I just can't stand the fact that I know what it looked like. Its gotta be flow or light. I upped the flow and I'm going to wait a week. I have a small frag of Slimer I will move somewhere else. This coral looked bad when I got it. After a week it colored up and looked picture perfect. I added more sps a few months later and did my normal bulb rotation at the same time but with ati. Maybe the additions lowered the flow. does Slimer like more flow than other acros?
