Can nerite eggs stay dormant?

It's a bit of an odd question I guess, but I just converted my freshwater planted tank, to a saltwater tank. I had 2 nerites in the freshwater tank and they of course laid eggs everywhere. When I cleaned the tank I guess I missed some eggs just under the top trim. Now I've got saltwater in and heater on and I have found several egg cases that have swelled and are split open but no sign of any baby snails. Does anyone know if they can stay dormant and hatch once introduced to saltwater?

Nope. Something probably either badly damaged them or ate the top parts of them- shrimp will do that, and sometimes hungry snails. Most nerites need brackish water to breed.
